Did you know… that a comprehensive part dinner service in the ‘Cirque Chinois‘ pattern by Le Tallec originally owned by Ann and Gordon Getty, acquired from Tiffany & Co., New York between 1976 and 1989, sold at online auction (Christie’s) in Oct 2022 for the sum of $163,800

The service was in the ‘Cirque Chinois’ pattern, comprising: 75 dinner plates, 10 teacups and 12 saucers, 18 demitasse cups and saucers and a circular tray.

Pattern: Marie Antoinette. This pattern was created in Sevres for Queen Marie Antoinette when she was wedded to King Louis XVI at Versailles. See page 86 of Atelier Le Tallec Hand Painted Limoges Porcelain: For Connoisseurs, Royalty, and Tiffany and Co. (Keith & Thomas Waterbrook-Clyde, 2003).
