Did you know… that a comprehensive part dinner service in the ‘Cirque Chinois‘ pattern by Le Tallec originally owned by Ann and Gordon Getty, acquired from Tiffany & Co., New York between 1976 and 1989, sold at online auction (Christie’s) in Oct 2022 for the sum of $163,800

The service was in the ‘Cirque Chinois’ pattern, comprising: 75 dinner plates, 10 teacups and 12 saucers, 18 demitasse cups and saucers and a circular tray.

Large Medici Empire Vase, hand-decorated in the Baron Jourdan pattern

Description and Key Features:
  • Shape (Medici Empire): The vase features the iconic Medici silhouette—a wide, flared, bell-shaped bowl or crater (often with gadrooned or fluted details at the base) that tapers to a narrower stem, supported by a distinct pedestal base. This, combined with the "Empire" style, typically includes elaborate, often gilded, scroll or loop handles rising from the sides.
  • Pattern Baron Jourdan, one of the most famous Le Tallec patterns, named after Baron Jourdan, a member of the board of Sevres in the eighteenth century and based on the original Sevres pattern.
