Did you know… that a comprehensive part dinner service in the ‘Cirque Chinois‘ pattern by Le Tallec originally owned by Ann and Gordon Getty, acquired from Tiffany & Co., New York between 1976 and 1989, sold at online auction (Christie’s) in Oct 2022 for the sum of $163,800

The service was in the ‘Cirque Chinois’ pattern, comprising: 75 dinner plates, 10 teacups and 12 saucers, 18 demitasse cups and saucers and a circular tray.

Large bowl in the Corail Chinois pattern, made at Sevres for the Samonville family from around 1780, the end of the Louis XVI period. In this variant the classic chinoiserie figures are in gold, set against a lacquered red or coral.
